We are delighted to announce the opening of applications for our Cultural Diplomacy PhD Research Award, designed to recognise and celebrate excellence in research among current PhD students and recent graduates. This award underscores our commitment to fostering innovative research within the realm of cultural diplomacy, highlighting the significant contributions of emerging scholars to this dynamic field.

Overview
This PhD Research Award acknowledges the outstanding research efforts of PhD students and recent PhD graduates whose work offers fresh perspectives and contributes to the advancement of cultural diplomacy. The applications will be reviewed by a dedicated committee, ensuring a fair and comprehensive evaluation of each application based on its merit and alignment with the award’s criteria.
Award Benefits
Successful applicant(s) will be honoured with a $1,000 prize, serving not only as a recognition of their research excellence but also as financial support to present their work at the Manchester Cultural Diplomacy Conference in December 2024. This presents a unique opportunity for awardees to share their findings with a wider audience, engage with fellow scholars, and contribute to the global discourse on cultural diplomacy.

Research Summary Guidelines
Your research summary should be no longer than two pages and must include the following sections:
- Research Aim, Significance, and Originality:
- Clearly articulate the primary objective of your research.
- Highlight the significance of your study within the field of cultural diplomacy.
- Demonstrate the originality of your work and how it contributes new insights or approaches to the field.
- Methodology:
- Describe the research methods and approaches used in your study.
- Explain why these methods were chosen and how they support the reliability and validity of your findings.
- Key Findings:
- Summarize the main outcomes of your research.
- Discuss the implications of these findings for the field of cultural diplomacy.
- Research Impacts:
- Detail the potential academic, cultural, and societal impacts of your research.
- Describe how your work advances understanding or practice within cultural diplomacy.
- Personal and Professional Development:
- Reflect on how conducting this research has contributed to your growth both personally and professionally.
- Identify specific skills or insights gained through your research experience and how they will benefit your future endeavours.
